North Greenville University golfer Christian Constance claimed a two shot victory in the 3rd Annual Upstate Amateur Championship, following up a Saturday 67 with a front nine 32 to build a big lead, then cruise to a two shot win. Constance, from Waynesville, NC won over Greenville attorney Ray Wooten. Wooten came back from a Saturday 70 with a three under 69 on Sunday. Jarrett Grimes shot a pair of 70s to finish in a tie for 3rd with Brandon Bradosky, who shot Sunday's best score, a five under par 67. Yancey Johnson carded a Sunday 71 to match his Saturday score, while Mike Hartin, Shane Grumbles & Robert Lutomski finished at one under 143.

Flight winners were Bradosky, Brandt Williams, Tucker McDonald, and Jimmy Gaffney. Thanks to the 92 golfers who played and also thanks to Green Valley for hosting the event and providing a beautiful course to play. Congratulations to Christian Constance for taking home the trophy!

Constance fires opening 67 to grab the first round lead...

Christian Constance posted a five under par 67 on Saturday to take a one shot lead into the final round of the Upstate Amateur Championship at Green Valley Country Club. Constance is ahead of Robert Lutomski, who made a bogey 5 on his final hole, the ninth. Vijay Mishra is another shot back at 69, while Jarrett Grimes, Shane Grumbles, and Ray Wooten are at two under 70. Yancey Johnson & Bradley Sudduth were the other two players who broke par out of the 92 players who teed it up in the first round Saturday. Five others matched even par 72 for a total of 14 players comprising the Championship Flight.

The players will once again double tee starting on #1 and #10 with the first group hitting at 8:00 with the final pairing at 10:00 AM. All are welcome to come watch the final round at beautiful Green Valley Country Club. Good luck to all the players on Sunday!
